Formerly SAS 70, and known internationally as ISAE 3402, SSAE 16 is recognised worldwide as a standard of quality for service organisations. The audit was conducted by Ernst & Young, a leading independent auditor. For G Suite and Cloud Platform customers, this audit helps verify the data protection technologies and processes Google have in place and demonstrates its commitment to protecting users’ data. The audit builds on the SSAE 16 audit completed last year and the ISO 27001 certification for G Suite received in May. This year, G Suite Vault was added to the audit, and Ernst & Young performed a SOC 2, Type II audit that’s more detailed and comprehensive than last year’s SOC 1 audit. The SOC 2 audit uses a standard set of controls including security, availability, processing integrity, and confidentiality of the data that is stored in Google’s services.
Security is very important to G Suite users and Google have invested many millions of dollars to help keep its users safe online. Google provides transparency and visibility to those protections through a G Suite Security Whitepaper and adata center video tour.
For Apps and Cloud Platform customers, Google provides transparency and visibility to those protections through our G Suite Security Whitepaper and our data center video tour.
