The new Google bar has started rolling out to all Google Apps users, introducing a cleaner look and more screen space.

Google Apps users will see a change to the Google bar over the next few days. The most significant change is the removal of the top cog, which was used to access Settings, plus the move of the user email address and image to the search bar. This all makes the top bar cleaner and there is now just one cog with Display Density; Settings; Themes; and more – which is a lot more user friendly.

Google has used this extra space to show more apps, both on the bar and under the “More” dropdown. Finally, when working in Google Docs and Sites the bar will disappear to free up a little more screen space.
