Welcome to the latest round of updates to Google Workspace, including cover images for Google Docs, multi-monitor support in Slides, and a new Google Drive homepage.
Google Docs
While using the pageless format in Google Docs, you can now add full-bleed cover images that extend from one edge of your document to the other. Choose a cover images from the existing Google Docs gallery or upload your own images. Simply go to Insert > Cover image > Upload from computer or Choose from stock images. To switch any document to the new pageless format, go to File > Page setup > Pageless or Format > Switch to Pageless format.

Google Slides
Multi-monitor support allows you to view speaker notes and the timer on one display while showing the slide presentation on an external monitor. You can use this feature by clicking on the “Presentation display options” button under Sideshow.

Google Chat
If you’re already familiar with Shared tab from Google Chat spaces, you’d be happy to know that this feature is now available for 1:1 chats and groups. The Shared tab is your central location to manage all conversation-related items, such as files, links, and media. You can now access this tab from the top of 1:1 direct messages and group messages, making collaboration easier across all conversation types.

Google Drive
When you open Google Drive, you should notice a new unified view for file and folder suggestions. This new homepage view leverages machine learning to help you find and organise your most relevant content faster and more intuitively.

Related content links in Gemini
To access this feature, you need the Gemini for Workspace add-on. As a Refractiv customer, you can get a free Gemini trial by getting in touch.
Gemini (gemini.google.com) will provide additional information on topics directly in its responses to your queries. You’ll see links to related content, and you can click on the arrow chips to explore the topic further. If you have a Gemini for Workspace license and Google Workspace extensions are enabled in Gemini, you will also see inline links to relevant emails referenced in responses when the Gmail extension is used. Additionally, you can use Gemini’s double-check feature to verify responses by using Google Search to highlight which statements are supported or contradicted on the web.
