Ascentis, a firm of accountants, tax advisers, business development specialists and registered auditors with offices in Leeds City Centre and Ilkley, has switched to Google Apps for Business with the help of Refractiv – a leading Google Apps Reseller in the UK.

Ascentis decided on the switch to Google Apps for Business to replace an outdated document management system which required an expensive upgrade. The company was also looking to improve employee communication and business processes.Ascentis is using Google Apps for Business to provide email, contacts and calendars; replacing Microsoft BPOS/Office 365 and Microsoft Outlook with Gmail and Google Calendar.

Refractiv migrated all existing documents and metadata from Invu (a document management system) to Google Docs, where they’re now easier to find and view from the office, home or on the road.

Refractiv also integrated Iris (practice management system) with Google Docs, so documents are automatically synchronised to Google Docs.
