Refractiv, one of Yorkshire’s leading IT services providers, hosted a training session on the potential of Google Apps Script at the two day Google in Education North of England summit last weekend.
Ian Weatherhogg, Refractiv’s Chief Technical Officer, guided regional educators and administrators through the benefits of Google Apps Script, during the Google organised event at Halifax Grammar School from 27-28 April. Google Apps Script is a great example of “code in the cloud” which enables automation of Google Apps, and integration with other web services and existing internal IT – without the usual tools, infrastructure and maintenance that normal coding requires.
The Google Education Summit was organised to help educators use Google Apps for Education more effectively in primary, secondary and higher education settings. The event featured sessions by some of the world’s leading Google apps experts including Google staff and Google certified teachers and trainers.
Ian Weatherhogg, Refractiv, said: “I regularly provide customer training on Apps Script, and am in awe of its potential for the future. The session provided a great hands-on introduction to Apps Script and lots of guidance to benefit all those working in the education sector. We’re delighted to have been able to share our experience and to help sponsor this important event.”
